An Interactive Scientific Activity at the Faculty of Nursing to Enhance Scientific Thinking and Active Learning
Within the framework of Mansoura National University’s commitment to developing students’ scientific skills and enhancing their critical and creative thinking abilities, and in affirmation of its approach to implementing active learning strategies in classrooms, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University; the leadership of Professor Dr. Raefa Refaat Allam, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; and the supervision of Dr. Rania Ramadan, Instructor of the Physiology course,
the Faculty of Nursing organized a scientific activity entitled “Who Am I? (Endocrine Gland Hormones)” on Saturday, October 25. During the activity, students were divided into working groups, and each group was provided with illustrations demonstrating the effects of endocrine glands on the human body. Students were required to analyze these illustrations and identify the related hormones and their vital functions. This interactive approach successfully combined enjoyment with deep understanding of the scientific content, making the learning experience an effective model for applying active learning concepts in higher education.
This activity comes as part of the University’s plan to adopt innovative teaching methods based on participation and practical application, aiming to develop students’ scientific thinking, collaboration, and logical analysis skills, in alignment with modern academic quality standards.
