The launch of the “University Without Obesity” initiative clinic at Mansoura National University

Within the framework of the “University Toward a Healthy Obesity-Free Environment” initiative launched by Mansoura National University, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Raefa Refaat Allam, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, the clinic dedicated to the initiative officially commenced its operations on campus.

This step represents an extension of the cooperation protocol signed between the Faculty of Nursing and Circles, which aims to enhance health awareness and prevent obesity and its associated diseases through joint training and practical programs.

The clinic provides a range of integrated health services to all members of the university community, including individual consultations, nutritional counseling, the development of appropriate nutrition plans, and periodic measurements of weight, body mass index (BMI), and blood pressure. The clinic also offers specialized follow-up for cases requiring continuous care, along with the necessary support to adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors.

In addition, the clinic contributes to organizing awareness programs and educational activities aimed at promoting physical activity and preventing obesity-related complications, thereby positively impacting the quality of university life.

Professor Dr. Raefa Refaat Allam affirmed that the launch of the clinic’s services represents an important step toward achieving a sustainable educational and health environment, noting that the initiative embodies the University’s vision of community service and aligns with the goals of sustainable development.
