The First International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Nursing – Mansoura National University,

The activities of the First International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Nursing – Mansoura National University were launched during the period 25–26 November 2025, under the title:
“Empowering and Investing the Nursing Profession as an Asset to the State’s Economy.”

The convening of the First International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Nursing – Mansoura National University represents a pioneering initiative aimed at strengthening the role of the nursing profession in building a sustainable healthcare sector, deepening its status as one of the pillars of the national economy, and highlighting its vital role in improving the quality of healthcare services within medical institutions.

This conference constitutes a practical embodiment of the University’s vision to support scientific research and develop qualified cadres capable of responding to rapidly evolving global health challenges and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, in line with Egypt Vision 2030, which places investment in human capital at the forefront of its priorities.

The conference brought together a distinguished group of decision-makers, university leaders, nursing professionals, experts, and researchers on a scientific platform aimed at exchanging expertise, discussing mechanisms for empowering nursing, and exploring the future of the profession in light of the digital revolution and modern technologies.

Opening Words

Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater
He emphasized that the nursing profession has become a key element in supporting the national economy and improving the quality of healthcare services. He highlighted Mansoura National University’s commitment to developing the health sector and empowering nursing, which enhances the efficiency of healthcare institutions and contributes to achieving Egypt Vision 2030. He also addressed the University’s role as a fourth-generation university based on innovation and artificial intelligence, preparing graduates for local and global competitiveness.

Professor Dr. Soheir Badr El-Din
She explained that the world is witnessing major transformations in the status of nursing as the backbone of any healthcare system. She emphasized that investing in nursing improves healthcare quality and reduces costs to the state, making nursing an important economic driver.

Professor Dr. Gamal Sheiha
He praised the role of the Faculty of Nursing – Mansoura National University in enhancing the status of nursing, noting that the conference represents an important step toward advancing the profession and achieving a global standard of care.

Professor Dr. Hamouda Eid El-Gazzar
He affirmed the Ministry of Health’s full support for nursing and stated that empowering nursing and expanding specialized training are fundamental to improving healthcare services.

First Day Activities

• Opening and Introductory Film
  The first day began with a comprehensive short film documenting the Faculty’s journey from its foundation to its current achievements in infrastructure, academic programs, scientific research, and community service, highlighting future plans.
• Decision-Makers’ Panel Discussion
  A broad panel discussion brought together nursing leaders and decision-makers from various health and academic institutions. The discussion addressed conference themes, mechanisms for empowering nursing, leadership roles, and professional development strategies in light of current challenges.
• First Scientific Session
  Research papers were presented on key nursing topics, including modern technology use, leadership skills development, and improving healthcare quality, generating rich academic discussion.
• Second Scientific Session
  This session focused on proposals for developing educational curricula and modern trends in nursing workforce training.

Second Day Activities

• First Scientific Session
  Topics included evidence-based nursing, the use of digital applications in patient follow-up, and international experiences in nursing empowerment.
• Second Scientific Session
  This session focused on artificial intelligence and nursing technology, discussing AI applications in clinical assessment, decision-making, and the development of institutional guidelines ensuring quality and ethical standards.
• Third Scientific Session
  The conference concluded with a session attended both in person and via Microsoft Teams, with approximately 100 online participants. Discussions focused on translating recommendations into actionable plans within educational and healthcare institutions.
