Minister of Higher Education Inspects the Facilities of Mansoura National University and Praises Its Specialized Laboratories and Achievements

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, conducted an inspection visit this morning, Saturday, to Mansoura National University. He was accompanied by Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura National University; Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of Mansoura University and Engineering Advisor to the President of Mansoura National University; along with a number of university leaders and program coordinators.
The Minister affirmed that the file of national universities has received strong support from H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic. These universities have become one of the main tracks within the higher education system. The number of national universities has reached (32), following a presidential decree establishing (12) new national universities that commenced operations during the current academic year. He further noted that national universities are considered fourth-generation universities, as they adopt the latest international educational systems and are equipped with state-of-the-art technological tools to support education, training, and research processes.
During the visit, the Minister inspected a number of specialized academic and research facilities across several university buildings. He reviewed the first phase of the training units at the Faculty of Dentistry, which includes three educational clinics with a total capacity of (66) dental units, in addition to a panoramic radiography device, providing an advanced clinical training environment that closely simulates professional practice.
The tour also included inspection of the Faculty of Dentistry’s simulation laboratories, which comprise four labs equipped with a total of (240) simulation units to practically qualify students in accordance with the latest internationally accredited educational systems, in addition to four specialized radiology laboratories. The visit further extended to the specialized simulation laboratories at the Faculty of Engineering, road and asphalt laboratories, robotics and cybersecurity laboratories, engineering drawing labs, as well as the data center and control room in the Central Laboratories Building, and the university’s engineering workshops. This reflects the scale of tangible investment in educational and technological infrastructure.
Dr. Ayman Ashour commended the substantial support provided by the political leadership for establishing national universities and equipping them with the latest technological devices and information infrastructure to emulate leading international universities. He pointed out that national universities offer modern academic programs aligned with labor market requirements, in addition to joining regional alliances and cooperating with academic, research, and industrial institutions within the framework of the Presidential Initiative “Alliance and Development,” in line with the implementation of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Minister emphasized that the relationship between public universities and national universities is founded on cooperation and integration, directing the need to ensure the achievement of the University’s objectives and to provide students with an advanced and distinguished educational experience, as well as to offer modern interdisciplinary programs aligned with the latest international educational systems.
He also highlighted the State’s comprehensive vision to position Egypt as an attractive educational platform and a destination for those seeking distinguished educational services in the Arab region, Africa, and the Middle East. He noted that Egypt’s higher education system offers programs in multiple languages to attract students of various nationalities, in addition to exporting knowledge abroad and promoting the internationalization of higher education.
For his part, Dr. Sherif Khater stated that Mansoura National University is equipped with the latest technological tools, clearly reflecting the State’s commitment to maximizing the efficiency of national universities and supporting them as a fundamental pillar for developing the higher education system and linking it to development needs and labor market demands. He emphasized the University’s keenness to ensure optimal utilization of available resources to achieve its objectives in preparing academically and professionally qualified graduates capable of competing in local, regional, and international labor markets. He affirmed the University’s commitment to applying international quality standards and continuously developing its academic programs and educational facilities in support of Egypt’s vision to build a modern education system based on knowledge, technology, and innovation.

The attendees also listened to a detailed presentation delivered by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Engineering Advisor to the President of Mansoura National University, outlining the University’s activities and achievements over recent years, highlighting newly implemented projects, completion of the University’s master plan, and the provision of advanced technological tools that simulate the latest educational systems. This positions the University among fourth-generation universities, aiming to equip students with the knowledge and competencies required to compete in the contemporary and future labor market.
On the sidelines of the visit, Dr. Ayman Ashour toured an exhibition showcasing student projects, including projects that won Innovation Incentive Awards affiliated with the Innovators and Talents Support Fund. The Minister listened to detailed explanations of the students’ projects, praised their high standard, and encouraged the students to continue developing and implementing them in ways that benefit society.
