In line with Mansoura National University’s commitment to integrating academic learning with practical application and strengthening its role in community service, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, and the leadership of Professor Dr. Raefa Refaat Allam, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing,
the Faculty of Nursing organized a scientific event to present the applied activities of students enrolled in the Applied Nutrition course on Wednesday, December 3. During the event, students presented innovative applied models that reflected their ability to translate theoretical content into effective practical steps in the field of healthy nutrition, under the supervision of Dr. Al-Zahraa Motawea, Course Coordinator. The activities included educational models, scientific posters, and awareness brochures highlighting the importance of healthy nutrition, the role of nursing in nutritional education, and methods of meal planning for various medical conditions.
The exhibition also featured models of healthy snack meals based on local and cost-effective ingredients, emphasizing the vital role of nursing in providing nutritional counseling and raising health awareness within the community.
As part of strengthening partnerships that support community engagement, the event was held in collaboration with Circles for Nutrition, which offered several awareness activities and competitions, in addition to distributing “Students Without Obesity” cards to encourage students to adopt healthy dietary lifestyles.
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Heba Abou Bakr, Coordinator of Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Shereen El-Tahery, Coordinator of Community Service and Environmental Development, along with a number of faculty members who praised the distinguished level of students’ participation and their commitment to utilizing scientific knowledge in designing educational content that serves the community.
Professor Dr. Raefa Refaat Allam affirmed that the exhibition aligns with the vision and mission of Mansoura National University, which places academic excellence, innovation, and community service at the forefront of its priorities. She noted that the event represents a practical model for applying active learning principles, enhancing students’ skills, and linking theoretical knowledge with real-world practice. She added that the showcased work reflects the Faculty’s commitment to preparing nurses capable of playing an effective role in nutritional education and improving the quality of healthcare, in line with the University’s orientation toward graduating qualified professionals who contribute to the development of the healthcare sector and the achievement of sustainable development.
